Role Overview: As a steel structure installer, you will be integral to the assembly and installation of steel frameworks. This role demands physical stamina, technical proficiency, and meticulous attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pass a drug screening.
- Consistently complete daily tasks and adhere to deadlines.
- Demonstrate problem-solving abilities in non-standard situations.
- Maintain a safe working environment to prevent injuries.
- Deliver high-quality workmanship without errors.
- Arrive punctually at job sites and be flexible with work hours as needed.
- Follow directives from supervisors and execute tasks independently.
- Correct any fabrication errors according to plans or necessary adjustments during the installation process.
- Operate and maintain various tools and equipment, including band saws, torches, welders, forklifts, and rigging equipment.
- Effectively communicate with team members and operators, especially in the absence of direct visibility.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, crawling, kneeling, and lifting.
- Climb ladders and scaffolding while utilizing appropriate safety gear.
- Execute all connection tasks safely and efficiently.
- Work at heights of up to 80 feet while maintaining balance.
- Rig structural steel components correctly and safely.
- Comprehend and interpret erection blueprints and detailed schematics.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
- Foster a collaborative relationship with management and peers.
- Utilize basic math skills for layout and fabrication tasks.
