Job Title: Senior Information Security Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Information Security Analyst to join our team at the Virginia Department of Social Services. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for managing and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our Security Monitoring Program. This program protects our agency's information assets and ensures compliance with various security guidelines and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain IT monitoring/access management programs that meet IT security policies and standards in a manner commensurate with risk
• Ensure compliance with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Tax Information Security Guidelines for Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Social Security Administration (SSA) Electronic Information Exchange Security Requirements, Guidelines, and Procedures for Federal, State, and Local Agencies, and the policies and procedures of the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Provide current information security and risk management topics from leading resources and disseminate this information to ISRM staff and other as needed
• Conduct security investigations and disseminate to DSS management regarding audit log requests and other similar investigation matters

Requirements:

• Experience in the fields of Information Technology, Information Security, or Security Incident Response
• Experience working in Commonwealth IT Environments
• Experience monitoring, tracking, and reporting on events impacting data confidentiality, integrity, or availability
• Experience working with SPLUNK or similar log aggregation tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Information System Security Professional, Certified Information Security Manager, or similar certification
• Experience working with Virginia Department of Social Services
• Experience creating and using SQL statements to query databases such as Oracle or MS SQL
