Job Summary

As a skilled Substation Electrician at Cianbro, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our high-voltage equipment. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team and contribute to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and enforce corporate safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Identify and mitigate hazards associated with working in a substation environment.
  • Interpret electrical construction blueprints and diagrams to inform installation and maintenance activities.
  • Install and maintain electrical raceways, wiring, and equipment related to metering, communication systems, and relaying systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical motors, complex electronic devices, control panels, relays, conduit, and switches.
  • Utilize meter and motor testing equipment to ensure proper electrical operation.
  • Develop a strong understanding of control schematics and wiring diagrams for basic equipment.
  • Verify phasing through a system to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship program.
  • Preferred OSHA certification.
  • Knowledge of technical practices and procedures for high-voltage equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining electrical tools and test equipment.
  • Understanding of substation grounding principles and ability to create an equipotential work zone.
  • Related experience in a high-voltage environment.
