Job Summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Substation Technician A to join our team. As a key member of our construction, maintenance, and repair team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our substation equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair work on substation equipment and systems, including concrete foundations, ground grids, and steel erection.
  • Work with energized high voltage systems, requiring skill and care to protect the lives of yourself and others.
  • Responsible for maintaining Company vehicles, test equipment, and tools in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Develop and interpret material lists, and trace out phasing in substations to verify against three-line diagrams.
Requirements
  • 6-8 years of continuous working knowledge of 525 kv and below substation equipment, apparatus, and wiring.
  • Commercial Drivers' License required.
  • Ability to climb and work at heights up to 125 feet above ground.
  • Capable of lifting in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently or with others, and lead/coach subordinates on the crew.
  • Operational experience of various types of heavy equipment, including bucket, derrick, and boom trucks.
Work Environment

This position is performed in outside weather conditions, and you will be frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
