About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Security Officer K-9 Handler to join our team at Providence Swedish. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure and orderly environment, protecting patients, visitors, and caregivers, and working in tandem with a canine partner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol hospital property, screen visitors, and perform other safety and security activities
  • Work closely with a canine partner to respond to security incidents and maintain a safe environment
  • Participate in regular training programs and exercises to improve proficiency and accustom the canine to react and perform in various situations and environments
  • May occasionally work as relief lead for a shift, with all the authority and responsibilities of a Security Officer Lead position
Requirements
  • 3 years related civilian or military security/law enforcement experience, including at least 2 years in healthcare security
  • Successful completion of TASER/AXON Training and Certification within 90 days of hire
  • Successful completion of AVADE/HDTS (Healthcare Defensive Tactics System) Training and Certification within 90 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree or AA or equivalent
  • K9 Handler training and experience
  • Provider Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association certification
