Cardiac Sonographer

The Cardiac Sonographer is a vital member of the WellStar Health System team, responsible for performing cardiac imaging procedures with precision and care. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

• Perform echocardiograms, including adult, pediatric, and transesophageal studies, as well as stress echocardiograms.
• Measure and calculate data according to laboratory protocol, providing preliminary findings to interpreting physicians as needed.
• Ensure patient safety and well-being, communicating effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
• Administer ultrasound-enhancing agents and saline bubble studies as required.
• Participate in the orientation and training of departmental employees, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Diagnostic Medical Sonography degree or certification preferred.
• Registered Medical Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in echocardiography or completion of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic setting.

The Cardiac Sonographer will work in a clinical environment, with regular exposure to patients and medical equipment. The ability to lift, push, and pull equipment is required, as well as the capacity to work in a team-oriented setting with minimal supervision.
