Position Overview: Atlantic Health System is in search of a qualified Emergency Medical Technician Instructor to join the Atlantic Mobile Health team. This role is a Full-Time position based at the Atlantic Training Center, primarily covering day shifts, including weekends as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive instruction for EMT initial training courses, refresher training, and continuing education programs.
  • Ensure all course-related documentation is complete and adheres to NJ OEMS standards for EMT training.
  • Maintain compliance with all policies and educational philosophies set forth by Atlantic Health System and relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Exhibit effective teaching methodologies and remain responsive to the diverse needs of students, adjusting instructional techniques as required.
  • Travel to various off-site locations to conduct training sessions within the communities served.
  • Prepare thoroughly for all assigned courses, demonstrating professionalism and adherence to the Atlantic Training Center dress code.
  • Administer and evaluate assignments and examinations promptly, providing students with timely feedback on their progress.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding student performance and outcomes, escalating any unresolved issues to the Lead or Coordinator without delay.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and submit it in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the security and proper maintenance of training equipment and materials, assisting with cleaning and restocking post-class.
  • Participate in scheduled instructor meetings and engage in required updates and training sessions.
  • Foster a collaborative and accountable educational environment to enhance operational efficiency and improve patient outcomes across the community.
  • Build effective relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and clients, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current NJ EMT certification (or higher), BLS/CPR certification, NJ EMT Instructor certification, and a valid driver's license with an unrestricted driving record.
  • Experience: Prior teaching experience is preferred, along with recent clinical experience. A minimum of three years in an emergency, critical care, or field setting is also preferred.
