Job Summary

Custodian at CSL Plasma is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized environment at our collection center. This role involves performing minor maintenance repairs, cleaning, and ensuring the overall appearance of the facility meets our high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain the employee break room, donor waiting area, and other common areas.
  • Vacuum carpets, dust furniture, and remove trash to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Clean windows and doors daily to maintain a clean and organized appearance.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, and painting.
  • Monitor the grounds and parking lots, picking up litter as needed.
  • Assist in recycling and repackaging of shipping materials.
  • Inspect and clean restrooms throughout the day, replacing paper and soap supplies as needed.
  • Physically receive supplies from vendors and move them to released and quarantined areas.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient work environment, ensuring sufficient operating supplies and forms are available.
  • Follow all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures.
  • Promote safety in all actions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
  • May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
  • Bilingual skills may be required to meet business needs.
  • Perform job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum three (3) months experience as a custodian preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
  • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.
  • Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
  • Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of time.
  • Reach, bend, kneel, and have high level of manual dexterity.
  • Occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and to blood-borne pathogens.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas.
  • Required to work overtime and extended hours to support center operational needs.
