The Assistant Facilities Supervisor will work closely with the Facilities Manager and Property Manager. While specific duties may differ by location, this role involves assisting in the management of the physical assets of the property and participating in on-call rotations for maintenance emergencies alongside the Facilities Manager. The ability to support staff management, handle multiple tasks, and adapt to evolving responsibilities while maintaining a positive demeanor is essential. Strong communication and organizational skills are vital. Union membership is a requirement at this location.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to ensure the efficient operation of building systems, including HVAC and boiler maintenance.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies in accordance with established procedures.
- Coordinate with the Facilities Manager and Management to work with staff, vendors, contractors, and residents to uphold the safety, cleanliness, and maintenance of the building through regular property inspections, work orders, and preventive maintenance.
- Assist the Facilities Manager in maintaining detailed records of facility maintenance for mechanical systems, pools, and elevators, as well as scheduling and overseeing the maintenance/janitorial team.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in multi-family facility management.
- HVAC Certification or equivalent experience.
- Strong customer service abilities.
- Proficient in basic computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, which may involve working on holidays, weekends, and nights as needed for site requirements and emergencies.
- Successful completion of the SEIU Local 1 Two-Year Apprenticeship Program.
