Position Overview

Baylor College of Medicine is in search of a dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our outpatient care team at the BSLMG location. The PA will play a crucial role in managing specific patient populations through both independent and collaborative clinical practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient histories and perform thorough physical assessments.
  • Execute, order, and analyze diagnostic tests aligned with the patient's health concerns.
  • Prescribe suitable pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document orders and progress notes regarding patient status, treatments, and procedures.
  • Ensure the precision of documentation in patient medical records.
  • Provide ongoing health maintenance care to patients in accordance with established protocols with the supervising physician.
  • Engage in communication with physicians, patients, and their families regarding patient care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and practice staff to identify suitable patients for care management.
  • Perform additional job-related responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Required: Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Note: A Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Studies may be accepted based on terminal degree requirements at the time of graduation.
  • Experience Required: 2 to 5 years of relevant medical experience.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: Current license as a Physician Assistant by the State of Texas Physician Assistant Board. Specialty certification as mandated by the department. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
