Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Inspector to join our team at the Mobile County Personnel Board. As an Electrical Inspector, you will be responsible for enforcing the National Electrical Code and local regulations governing the installation and operation of electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect electrical systems and equipment to ensure compliance with codes and regulations
  • Conduct site visits to investigate electrical-related complaints and incidents
  • Review and analyze electrical plans and specifications to ensure compliance with codes and regulations
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure electrical safety and compliance
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other staff members
Requirements
  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent, supplemented by two years of trade school or college coursework in the electrical field and a minimum of three years journeyman level experience in the electrical field
  • Valid driver's license from the state of residence
  • Current master or journeyman electrician certificate issued by the State of Alabama or the City of Mobile (except in the Town of Creola, which does not require Electrical Certification)
