About the Role:
- We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Soliant Education.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Responsibilities will include developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- The successful candidate will also plan and deliver engaging and effective instruction in self-contained or resource classroom settings.
- They will utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student success.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related services staff, and parents to support student learning.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to ensure academic and personal growth.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student performance and IEP goals.
Requirements:
- Valid Virginia, Maryland, or District of Columbia Special Education teaching certification.
- Must have obtained, or be currently obtaining ASD credential.
- Experience working with students with diverse disabilities and behavioral needs.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
