Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Shift Fitter to join our team at US Engine Valve. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing machine malfunctions, performing preventive maintenance, and completing projects as directed.

Essential Functions:

  1. Troubleshoots and repairs machine malfunctions, performs preventive maintenance
  2. Locates and repairs electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical problems
  3. Completes projects as directed (machine moves, modifications, installations; material handling; remodeling work area, etc.)
  4. Assists in the training of other maintenance personnel and production associates
  5. Ensures that job functions maintain or improve product quality
  6. Performs Preventative Maintenance functions on equipment
  7. Completes work orders satisfactorily and in a timely manner

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED from an accredited school
  2. Advanced education (associate degree) in related field or equivalent work experience preferred
  3. Prior work experience in a manufacturing setting is highly preferred
  4. Experience in working with electrical systems from 24V DC to 480V AC
  5. Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints

Other Information:

Works well in a team environment and accomplishes projects in a timely basis with acceptable workmanship

On-the-job or classroom training, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronics, welding, and mechanical

Hilift/Forklift operation experience and ability to obtain license

Quality Management System and Environmental Systems Training

Must be able to work in a manufacturing setting, standing, bending, stooping, lifting, pulling, pushing are required
