Battery Safety and Emergency Response Team Lead

About the Opportunity

As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, while also contributing to the development of cutting-edge battery technology.

The Safety Emergency Response Technician Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the response to emergency situations within our industrial manufacturing setting. This includes supervising SERT I and SERT II personnel, adjusting and providing assistance to the needs of the manufacturing facility, and ensuring incident reports are completed and error-proofed prior to the end of each shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of SERT I and SERT II personnel
  • Respond to emergency situations, including fires, chemical spills, and alarms
  • Conduct high-angle rescue operations, confined space rescue operations, and identify hazards in confined spaces
  • Deal directly with the release of hazardous materials, such as chemicals or gases released by a burning event
  • Act in an operations (defensive) manner to address and contain spills
  • Evacuate areas that could become contaminated by hazardous materials
  • Provide first aid to injured/ill personnel and transport them to medical facilities if necessary
  • Maintain equipment, perform periodic inspections on fire protection and life safety equipment, and perform audits/inventory of life safety equipment and vehicles
  • Perform drills and simulations to prepare for challenging industrial fires
  • Operate firefighting apparatus to conduct fireground operations and response

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Current Certification as Firefighter I/II from a national accredited organization
  • Prior experience as supervisor preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with fellow employees, hospital staffs, fire departments, rescue squads, police departments, communications centers, management, and the general public
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle conflict situations with good judgment, professionalism, and courtesy
  • Pass a background check
  • Successfully complete the ERT physical agility requirements
  • Apparatus Operator (Pumper/Aerial) certification within 12 months of hire
  • CPR certification

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
