Job Description

Job Summary:

The Innovation Project Manager will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of technology transfer and commercialization initiatives for the ERDC (Engineer Research and Development Center). This role will work closely with ERDC personnel to identify, design, and implement projects that support the center's innovation goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects related to technology transfer and commercialization, including identifying opportunities, developing project plans, and coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Work with ERDC personnel to investigate and design projects that support the center's innovation goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners, academia, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for technology transfer and commercialization.
  • Provide facilitation support for process mapping, project planning, and other project management activities.
  • Manage project details through the use of digital platforms, including Trello and Hubspot.
  • Conduct market research to expand contact lists for the promotion of individual projects.
  • Support the establishment of vendor and/or collaborative agreements with businesses and academia.
  • Represent DEFENSEWERX at key events and conferences.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or management, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technology-related project management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a highly collaborative nature.
  • Mastery of processes and tools that support and enable teamwork, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management, process improvement, and problem-solving tools, preferably in support of innovation.
  • Familiarity with technology IP commercialization, federal government contracting, and technology transfer.
  • Ability to grow and maintain a network of entities to assist with and/or participate in technology transfer.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.
  • Must not have any conflicts of interest affecting DEFENSEWERX or the Department of Defense.
