Job Title: PLC Mechanic

Location: Orange, CA

Summary:

Gulfstream SP is seeking a skilled PLC Mechanic to join our team in Orange, CA. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through efficient troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment. This role requires a strong working knowledge of all operating systems in the fabrication shop and the ability to collaborate with Maintenance Technicians, machine Operators, Supervisors, and Managers to address both electrical and mechanical issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Meet Manufacturing Goals: Fully commit to meeting manufacturing goals, safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Troubleshoot Equipment Problems: Troubleshoot equipment problems and execute immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on operating and material handling equipment.
  • Overhaul and Install New Equipment: Overhaul and install new equipment, rebuild, weld, and fabricate parts as needed.
  • Perform Electrical and Mechanical Repairs: Perform electrical and mechanical repairs throughout the facility, maintaining a clean and debris-free working area.
  • Generate Part Requests: Generate part requests to ensure adequate inventory.
  • Complete Assigned Projects: Complete all assigned projects from work orders promptly.
  • Provide Mechanical and Maintenance-Related Assistance: Provide mechanical and maintenance-related assistance, including equipment set-up, repairs, construction, and piping installation.
  • Report Equipment Malfunction: Report any equipment malfunction and unsafe practices immediately to the supervisor on duty.
  • Prioritize Work Effectively: Prioritize work effectively as a problem solver.
  • Complete Required Reporting: Complete all required reporting and documentation promptly.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 Years of Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic.
  • High School GED/Trade School: High School GED/Trade School preferred.
  • Industrial Maintenance Experience: 1-5 years of industrial maintenance experience required.
  • Proficiency in Multiple Skill Clusters: Proficiency in multiple skill clusters, including electrical controls, mechanical systems, welding, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
  • Medium to High-Level Machine Systems Troubleshooting: Medium to high-level machine systems troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Previous Experience in a High-Speed Industrial Environment: Previous experience in a high-speed industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Control (PLC): Knowledge of Programmable Logic Control (PLC) preferred.
  • Understanding of Preventative, Corrective, and Predictive Maintenance Methods: Understanding of preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance methods.
  • Ability to Read and Comprehend Electrical Diagrams: Ability to read and comprehend electrical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Basic Work Experience in a Manufacturing or Industrial Environment: Basic work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Availability to Work Flexible Hours: Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, due to production demand.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional Certifications: Professional Certifications (e.g., CMRP or HVAC certified) are preferred.
