Job Summary

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions in the Theatre History and Social Justice Program. This listing is for potential future affiliate faculty needs for our Theatre History and Social Justice Program.

We are seeking qualified candidates to teach courses in Theatre History and Social Justice. The successful candidate will have a strong background in theatre history and social justice, as well as experience teaching in a higher education setting.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Theatre History and Social Justice
  • Develop and implement course materials and lesson plans
  • Grade student work and provide feedback
  • Provide academic support to students as needed
  • Meet with students during office hours
  • Comply with university policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts in Theatre or a related field, plus 6 years of relevant experience
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre or a related field, plus 4 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Fine Arts in Theatre or related field, plus 2 years of relevant experience
  • Or a Master of Arts Degree in Theatre, plus 3 years of relevant experience
  • Or a Doctorate in Theatre or related field, plus 2 years of relevant experience

Terms of Employment

Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University's benefit program. All such teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment.

Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.

Salary for Announcement

The final salary is based on the number of credit hours assigned at a rate determined by university policy.
