Overview:


Delivers exceptional patient-focused care while considering the unique age-related, developmental, cultural, and spiritual requirements through proficient clinical practice and the application of the nursing process.

Consistently incorporates principles of relationship-centered care into daily practice. Acts as a clinical and educational resource for colleagues on the unit. Takes responsibility for the nursing care of assigned patients. Exhibits competencies designated for the unit/area.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  • Completion of an accredited nursing program.
  • As of January 1, 2013, all new hires must possess a BSN degree or must commit in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from the date of hire or transfer to an RN role.
  • Valid Michigan Nursing License
  • BLS Certification

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Understanding of nursing theory, practice, and age-specific requirements
  • Interpersonal abilities necessary to establish and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.
  • Critical thinking capabilities essential for executing primary duties and responsibilities outlined in the job description.
  • Capacity to focus and pay meticulous attention to detail when planning and delivering professional nursing care.
