Position Overview: The Registered Nurse in Women's Imaging plays a crucial role in the breast health team, coordinating various aspects of screening mammography, diagnostic imaging, and biopsy procedures. This position encompasses both clinical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring a safe and efficient patient care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between patients and referring physician offices, ensuring all necessary prescriptions and medical clearances are obtained.
- Track pathology results and collaborate with Breast Imagers to deliver timely results to patients.
- Identify potential barriers to care for patients and families, providing referrals to appropriate resources.
- Refer all positive patients to Oncology Nurse Navigators, contributing to the interdisciplinary team focused on optimal patient care.
A Day in the Life: As a Registered Nurse in Women's Imaging, your daily activities will include:
- Educating patients and assisting them in navigating the multidisciplinary care system.
- Facilitating authorizations, appointments, and documentation for diagnostic and biopsy procedures.
- Providing compassionate patient care during biopsy procedures.
- Communicating negative results to patients and tracking outcomes for medical audits.
- Being a supportive partner throughout the patient's journey from diagnosis to survivorship.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid RN License in the State of New Jersey.
- CPR/BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred: Certified Breast Care Nurse (CBCN).
- Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience required.
- Preferred: Experience in oncology or radiology nursing.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.
- Must be self-directed and proactive in patient care.
