Join Our Team as a Certified Surgical Technician
At AdventHealth, we believe in nurturing a community that values the well-being of every individual. As a Certified Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in our Heart Team, contributing to the healing ministry and supporting our commitment to excellence in patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by preparing and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Utilize physician preference cards to ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are ready for each surgical case.
- Prepare medications and solutions, ensuring accurate labeling and reporting for documentation.
- Support the surgical team by providing instruments and supplies as needed throughout the procedure.
- Maintain the highest standards of sterile technique and participate in the cleaning and preparation of the operating room.
- Communicate effectively with surgeons and nursing staff to anticipate needs and address any potential complications.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the education of new staff and students.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current registration as a surgical technologist with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
- Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent.
Preferred:
- One year of experience in a surgical environment.
- Experience in a specialized surgical field.
