We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Care Specialist to join our team at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. As a key member of our Hospital Medicine department, you will work collaboratively with our physicians to deliver exceptional medical care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive bedside assessment and develop individualized care plans for complex medical patients.
  • Write orders and prescriptions for standard formulary medications, laboratory studies, and radiographic studies as needed.
  • Coordinate discharge planning and facilitate the transfer of care back to the primary provider.
  • Consult and make referrals to physicians and other members of the healthcare team as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with referral sources, hospital employees, and consulting physicians.
  • Provide excellent customer service and promote a culture of teamwork and open communication.
Requirements
  • Certified and licensed as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) by the State of Michigan.
  • Prior experience as an NP or PA in Internal Medicine is preferred.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to respond to a highly variable workload.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain effective communication with multiple physicians and referral hospital employees.
