Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Patient Service Representative to join our team at Bon Secours Charity Medical Group. As a key member of our medical office team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support services to our patients and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with the checking in and checking out process, ensuring accurate and efficient completion of necessary paperwork.
  • Educate patients on post-care instructions and their healthcare coverage responsibilities, promoting a positive and supportive patient experience.
  • Scanning medical insurance information and obtaining authorizations from insurance carriers for medications or referrals to specialists as needed.
  • Scanning lab reports, consultations, office notes, and messages for placement in appropriate charts, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Pulling charts for licensed practitioners or front desk staff as needed and filing completed charts appropriately, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Forwarding records to Bon Secours Charity Health or other parties as directed, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assisting physicians in obtaining patient results and scheduling office appointments when needed, providing exceptional support and communication.
  • Maintaining inventory of medical supplies, immunizations, and equipment, requesting supplies in a timely manner to ensure seamless operations.
  • Performing routine maintenance of medical equipment, including logging daily temperatures of the refrigerator/freezer, and ensuring accurate and reliable equipment function.
  • Logging all samples received with expiration dates, manufacturers, and lot numbers, and recording all distributed samples by patient name, date, and number of samples given.
  • Checking expiration dates on all stored medications/immunizations on a weekly basis and keeping record of all expired items that are discarded, ensuring patient safety and compliance.
  • Recording all injections and immunizations in medication log as well as patient chart, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Performing all functions necessary for the successful implementation of the NYS immunization transmissions, ensuring seamless and efficient operations.
  • Handling all questions regarding the office and procedures, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Reviewing correspondence, memoranda, and routine reports and communicating with the Office Manager, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Overseeing the daily schedule for the physician, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
Requirements
  • Minimum of one (1) year of customer service and/or medical office experience preferred.
  • Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • MA or Order entry certificate preferred.
