Job Overview

The Educator is tasked with fostering a collaborative teaching environment, overseeing the educational framework, and managing the daily operational functions of the classroom. Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute educational programs by crafting classroom activities that align with developmentally suitable practices and early learning benchmarks.
  • Exemplify leadership; promote the success of the teaching team through mentorship and guidance.
  • Organize individualized and group activities that are age-appropriate to actively involve children and promote their social, cognitive, and emotional development.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents through informal conversations, progress updates, and parent-teacher meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all center policies and state regulations.
  • Uphold a healthy classroom environment, which includes adhering to hygiene and cleanliness standards, as well as ensuring the safety and security of children.
  • Oversee teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to guarantee adherence to planned activities, hygiene, and safety protocols.
  • Keep accurate records, forms, and files.
  • Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure ongoing quality enhancement.
Qualifications
  • Must possess or actively pursue a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, TCC, or an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • OR have at least 48 semester credit hours, including 15 semester hours in early childhood education, early childhood development, or child and family studies.
  • AND have a minimum of two years of experience working with children in a licensed child development setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills along with basic computer proficiency.
  • High energy and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, children, and parents to foster a team-oriented environment.
  • A solid understanding of child development principles.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check and health screening.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
