Job Title: Security Officer

Lifespace Communities is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team at Claridge Court, a CCRC community in Prairie Village, Kansas.

Job Summary:

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of all residents and company property. This includes ensuring that all safety and security checks are completed, reporting suspicious and/or unusual circumstances, and responding to emergencies in a timely and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a secure environment by making scheduled rounds inside and outside of the building.
  • Schedule and conduct fire and disaster drills for each shift, and maintain accurate detailed logs.
  • Maintain security records, including safety inspections, repair needs of equipment, and unusual circumstances.
  • Respond to all fire alarms and emergency calls, and notify appropriate team members as necessary.
  • Have a good working knowledge of all Life Safety Systems.
  • Maintain daily guard reports of shift, and provide detailed explanations of occurrences.
  • Ensure that all guests, team members, residents, vendors, etc. enter and exit the community and building through the appropriate entrances and exits, and provide identification as requested.
  • Perform light maintenance as needed, such as changing light bulbs and unclogging toilets/drains.
  • Transport residents and/or team members on and/or off of the property as needed.
  • Deliver packages to residents and distribute in-house mail.
  • Greet residents and guests, assist with luggage and packages, and park and retrieve resident vehicles.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two to three years applicable experience.
  • A state-issued driver's license with a driving record clear of infractions as defined by current insurance mandates.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and interact with residents, vendors, and team members.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with residents and guests.
  • Basic computer skills.
