Job Title: BIM Coordinator

Actalent is seeking a skilled BIM Coordinator to join our team. As a BIM Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading coordination efforts for the company, directing Drafter/Spoolers as needed, and attending coordination meetings. You will also be responsible for completing understanding of job specs, schedule, and construction sequencing, labeling, dimensioning, and printing of drawings, placing of Trimble points, and providing assistance in creating, updating, and maintaining libraries of equipment and fittings for the CADD system. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining and filing all sketches and drawings by name-number location, providing detailed shop drawings as required of duct and piping for the complete project, with time frames provided by the project manager or department manager. You will also be responsible for providing piping assembly drawings for Pipe Fab Shop, Sheet Metal Shop, and/or Prefabrication Shops. You will learn all necessary information regarding mechanical installations that will apply to CADD systems, make final sketches of proposed drawings, checking dimensions of parts, materials to be used, the relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to the whole structure or project. You will utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings. You will make any adjustments or changes necessary or desired. You will draw charts for the representation of statistical data. You will draw finished designs from sketches. You will use computer-assisted drafting and design (CADD) equipment and software - Revit, AutoCAD MEP.
Hard Skills
  • Understanding of job specs, schedule, and construction sequencing

  • Providing detailed shop drawings for duct and piping

  • Making necessary adjustments or changes to drawings
  • Drawing charts for statistical data representation
  • Drawing finished designs from sketches
  • Using Revit and AutoCAD MEP software
Soft Skills
  • Key technical and implementation source for BIM
  • Maintaining effective relationships with design, project, and client teams
  • Providing guidance to estimators and project managers on added costs for project BIM implementation
Work Environment

Collaborative environment with coordination meetings, interaction with project managers, estimators, and various shop teams. Requires use of computer-assisted drafting and design (CADD) equipment and software.
