Job Title: Virtual Design Specialist

At The Haskell Company, we are seeking a skilled Virtual Design Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our design and construction team, you will play a critical role in leveraging Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies to drive innovation and efficiency in our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain integrated project coordination models using Navisworks software, and create clash detection reports based on analysis of multiple design disciplines and trade subcontractor 3D models.
  • Participate in virtual collaboration meetings with the project team, leveraging the coordination model as a decision-making tool to solve complex coordination issues.
  • Extract quantity data from Revit building information models (BIM) for estimating teams, cross-referencing contract drawings and specifications for model accuracy.
  • Converting 2D drawing information to 3D Revit models for design and construction details, including the creation of custom parametric Revit families.
  • Providing model-based layout coordinates to field surveying teams onsite for the layout of self-perform concrete, steel, utilities, and other systems.
  • Processing, registering, and publishing laser scan point cloud data for coordination.
  • Creating 4D/5D construction sequence animations using Navisworks, Synchro, and Lumion software for proposals and construction teams.
Requirements:
  • Good communication, interpersonal skills, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to organize and manage complex implementation tasks, establish and meet schedules, and maintain focus on goals.
  • Understanding of project workflows (schematic design, design development, construction documentation phases) and project management.
  • Understanding of different needs of the delivery team (architects, engineers, estimators, project managers, and field staff).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Technology.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in BIM/VDC Technologies in the AEC industry is preferred.
  • Experience within Revit and/or Navisworks is desired.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.

Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information.

The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
