Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing meetings and special events, including budgeting and operations
  • Research and analyze new products, pricing, and services of competition
  • Assist in apprising property of all groups that will impact property operations
  • Execute event management strategy aligned with company business strategy
  • Conduct daily walk-through of banquet floor to promote client satisfaction and quality standards
  • Learn, operate, and train employees on software systems used in events
  • Manage profitability, including developing working relationships with outside vendors and establishing prices and service agreements
  • Upsell during event planning and manage department controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals
  • Ensure exceptional customer service, creating an atmosphere that meets or exceeds guest expectations
  • Manage and conduct human resources activities, including interviewing, selecting, and training employees
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in hospitality, or related major; 1 year experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or a comparable professional area
