HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast, a 340+ bed acute care hospital in Pasadena, Texas, is seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team. Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. This vital role performs diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, monitors patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, and ensures airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner issued by the Texas Medical Board active and in good standing
  • Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) active and in good standing
  • Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree, or Certificate from an accredited respiratory program
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care setting is preferred; licensed new grads will be considered
  • Must be able to work days and rotating weekends
