OVERVIEW

Our organization is seeking an Interim Financial Consultant to assist with project-driven tasks and temporary coverage during high-demand periods, utilizing a Controller-level expertise while engaging in hands-on responsibilities.

The selected consultant will ensure compliance with accounting standards, practices, and protocols to deliver precise and timely financial reports. This role requires managing tight deadlines and a variety of accounting functions, including general ledger management, financial reporting, year-end audit assistance, and support for budgeting and forecasting activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily financial reporting accuracy and the processing of client data
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, covering cash, fixed assets, payroll, and other accruals
  • Review and authorize account classifications
  • Examine the general ledger for missing transactions and overall integrity
  • Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cost accounting (if relevant)
  • Assist in budget formulation and prepare monthly budget variance analyses
  • Perform technical accounting research, including revenue recognition, leases, stock-based compensation, and business combinations

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 8+ years of advanced accounting and finance experience, particularly in month-end closing and financial reporting
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA designation preferred
  • Experience in public accounting or consulting environments is advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of technical financial accounting (GAAP)
  • Familiarity with accounting/ERP systems such as NetSuite, Intacct, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics Suite, and QuickBooks
  • Experience with reporting systems like OneStream, Hyperion, and Adaptive Planning is preferred
  • Experience in a paperless working environment is highly regarded
