Job Summary:

The CT Technologist is a key member of the Ascension healthcare team, responsible for performing high-quality, low-dose diagnostic procedures using computerized tomography (CT) scanners. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy and pathology, as well as the ability to operate complex equipment and provide excellent patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform total-body diagnostic CT scanning as indicated by admitting diagnosis, under general supervision and in accordance with specified protocols.
  • Assist physicians and provide computer guidance during invasive procedures, prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
  • Gather and exchange patient information with nursing personnel and physicians, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • Prepare and stock the CT suite, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available for procedures.
  • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness, including provision for the contamination-free condition of rooms, equipment, and personnel.
  • Responsible for necessary equipment maintenance recommendations and troubleshooting, keeping all necessary logs and records.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities related to CT scanning, ensuring high-quality patient care and outcomes.
  • Perform a variety of related clerical tasks as necessary, including data entry and record-keeping.
  • Maintain professional appearance and adhere to Ascension's Dress and Grooming Policy.
  • Handle equipment in a responsible and professional manner, following established protocols and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate required.
  • Qualifications and experience necessary to operate equipment and evaluate anatomy and pathology as required to provide high-quality, low-dose diagnostic procedures.
