Position Overview:

As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Medical Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This position is designed for individuals who are dedicated to patient care and possess the technical skills necessary for operating imaging equipment effectively.

Department:
Radiology

Work Schedule:
PRN, with a minimum commitment of two eight-hour shifts each month

Key Responsibilities:
  • Capture radiologic images that assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures while accurately selecting exposure parameters.
  • Administer contrast media and medications in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor patients during imaging procedures and report any unusual findings.
  • Review and suggest improvements to imaging protocols as necessary.
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards to minimize exposure to patients.
  • Ensure the timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to the PACS system.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and report any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the radiology department.

Qualifications:

Licensure / Certification:
Current BLS certification required within one month of hire. Acceptable certifications include those from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Required Credentials:
One or more of the following:
  • Cardiographic Technician credential from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • Radiologic Technologist credential in Radiography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Medical Sonographer credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent with two years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree/Technical degree, or four years of applicable job-specific experience.
