  • CPA Preferred The Senior Financial Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Accounting Manager with the daily functions of the finance department, ensuring the precision and promptness of comprehensive financial records for all corporate entities.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Maintain expertise through continuous education and training, including mandatory annual in-services.
    • Review and authorize documents prepared by accounting staff.
    • Examine and reconcile general ledger account balances.
    • Oversee the accurate reporting and processing of contract labor for all organizations.
    • Collaborate with the Accounting team on Retirement Association tasks, including the preparation of financial statements, audit activities, and presentations at Board of Directors meetings.
    • Assist the Accounting Manager and team members with monthly expense variance analysis.
    • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements for all corporate entities.
    • Timely distribute financial reports to administrators and department heads, addressing any inquiries or concerns.
    • Monitor account balances and investigate any discrepancies.
    • Assist with annual audits, tax filings, and cost reports for all corporate entities.
    • Ensure compliance with external reporting requirements and timely submissions.
    • Prepare necessary journal entries for the Accounting Manager's approval.
    • Complete special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager, Director of Finance, or Chief Financial Officer.
    • Exercise independent judgment in identifying potential red flags related to identity theft prevention.
  • Essential Qualifications
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting.
    • License/Certifications: Not applicable.
    • Experience: 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent technical skills with a keen attention to detail.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
