Job Summary

Platinum Dermatology Partners is seeking a skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical team.

Key Responsibilities

Escort patients to and from exam rooms, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
Enter medical histories and prescriptions into our electronic medical record system with accuracy and attention to detail.
Assist physicians during exams and procedures, providing support and ensuring patient comfort.
Perform extractions, injections, and other patient treatments as needed, following established protocols and guidelines.
Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments as required.
Educate patients and respond to their questions in a professional and compassionate manner, both in the office and over the phone.
Document all medical instructions given to patients, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
Clean and organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies as needed.

Requirements

Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Dermatology Technician (CDT) is preferred, but not required.
Minimum two years of experience in a doctor's office, with prior dermatology experience a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of medical dermatology terms, CPT, and ICD-10 coding systems.
Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with patients and coworkers alike.
Prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
