Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Equipment Repair Technician to join our team at Erbe USA Incorporated. As a key member of our technical services department, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on medical equipment, ensuring that our products are in optimal working condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform annual maintenance on sales representatives' demonstration equipment
  • Prepare testing documentation and service reports for equipment worked on
  • Conduct periodic maintenance on equipment returned from trade shows, courses, labs, etc.
  • Check and coordinate the return of OEM equipment to OEM for repair
  • Perform monthly verification checks on bench testing equipment
  • Ensure correct parts inventory is maintained while performing equipment servicing
  • Oversee software updates, reconfigurations, and modifications on Erbe equipment as required
  • Provide limited technical support and consultation to customers and sales reps via telephone
  • Adhere to relevant technical procedures per standard operating and testing procedures as well as quality system regulations guidelines
  • Participate in the set-up and breakdown of training room/equipment during customer training
  • Participate in the review and editing of department procedures as necessary
Additional Responsibilities
  • Decontaminate devices and accessories as necessary for all returned equipment
  • Check and repair foot switches, lavage pumps, and other accessories/devices as directed
  • Relocate products to proper technical services locations as needed
Requirements
  • Technical degree or higher level of education in electronics or related field required
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience in the field of medical electronics repair or related work required
  • Demonstrated communications skills, both verbal and written, with particular strengths in telephone listening skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills required
  • Strong detail orientation and the ability to complete high volume of work in a timely manner required
  • Must be willing and able to follow established protocols within regulated environment
  • Demonstrated excellent computer skills required; strong preference for those with high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The position also operates and interacts with electronic devices that are sold by the company.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and stoop; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds.
