Medical Office Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our team at Aunt Martha's Health and Wellness. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:- Register new and established patients for all specialties using our electronic record system, including completion of all required patient forms and accurate data entry.
- Verify insurance eligibility, income verification, and accurately record information and attach insurance cards in the electronic record system.
- Link patients who are uninsured or underinsured to an enrollment specialist for assistance with application for insurance benefits.
- Respond to internal and external customer needs in a positive manner, utilizing principles of the AIDET model, and provide the highest quality service to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments for patients, collect and distribute internal and external mail as appropriate, and conduct daily reminder and no-show calls per established procedure.
- Process new and established patients through the check-out process, including collection of patient payments and co-pays at time of service, providing receipt documentation, claim creation and submission, and scheduling of follow-up appointments as instructed by clinical staff.
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) and at least one year of previous customer service experience required.
- Previous experience as a Medical Office Assistant strongly preferred.
- Reliable transportation, bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus, and ability to work late evening hours, weekend hours, and scheduled holidays.
