Pharmacy Technician

PeaceHealth is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists in providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Enter inpatient orders and prescriptions into the computer system
- Prepare labels for medications to be checked by the pharmacist
- Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate personnel
- Inspect medications for outdates in patient care areas
- Prepare IVs, PCAs, Epidurals, and labels all IV products
- Packages drugs into unit dose packaging and maintains packaging records
- Reconstitutes medication by adding a specific quantity of distilled water
- Run fill lists and prepares medications for Cubies or Pyxis stations
- Delivers medications and IVs to patient care areas
- Data enters patient charges and credits
- Check in the order, processes invoices, credits, and backorders
- Restocks medication on the shelves as needed
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in hospital pharmacy utilizing unit dose, IV admixtures, and pharmacy computer systems
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Proficient computer and keyboarding skills, including MS Office applications
- Good mathematical and analytical skills
- Strong customer service skills, including excellent communication skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize workflow in a dynamic environment
- Lifting: Occasionally up to 30 lbs.
- Push/Pull: Occasionally up to 14 lbs. force
- Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals
- Mental/Visual: Vision and hearing required within normal limits
