Job Summary

This position plays a vital role in the Clinical Team at ECHN, providing direct and indirect Occupational Therapy services to Adult and Adolescent Behavioral Health inpatients. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing treatment plans, coordinating group and individual assessments, and providing consultations to ensure patients achieve their maximal functioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Treatment Planning: Develop comprehensive treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient, incorporating age-appropriate goals and interventions.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate patient functioning and treatment needs, utilizing clinical information and feedback from the treatment team.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and consultations, adhering to ECHN's Departmental/Behavioral Health standards and policies.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate and coordinate patient plans of care with the treatment team, ensuring seamless delivery of services and successful patient outcomes.
  • Professional Development: Pursue ongoing education and training opportunities to enhance clinical skills and stay current with best practices in Occupational Therapy.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to patient emergencies, utilizing Physical Management Training (PMT) techniques to manage violent or potentially violent situations.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an Accredited College or University, with a valid State OTR license.
  • Experience: Preference given to candidates with experience working with the chronic Behavioral Health/psychiatric population.
  • Competencies: Strong clinical skills, excellent written and verbal communication, computer competency, flexibility, time management, and ability to take swift action in emergency situations.
