Long Haul Truck Operator

Position Overview:
As a Long Haul Truck Operator, you will be responsible for transporting goods to various destinations while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of your vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive a tractor-trailer vehicle to assigned locations and utilize mechanized loading and unloading equipment.
- Perform additional tasks as required to support operational needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred experience of at least six (6) months with FedEx Express.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Ability to operate mechanized loading and ground support equipment.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and maneuvering packages exceeding this weight with appropriate equipment or assistance.
- Customer interaction and package handling experience is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Maintain a neat appearance due to customer contact requirements.
Job Conditions:
This position is classified as safety-sensitive under FMCSA regulations. A medical examination is mandatory, and the role is subject to alcohol and drug testing, including substances such as marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine, and opioids. You must demonstrate the ability to maintain alertness and operate safely at all times. A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and a hazardous materials endorsement (HME) are required for the type of vehicle assigned, along with a good driving record as per company policy.
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is between $26.56 and $37.40 per hour. Actual starting pay will be determined based on experience, market level, and other job-related factors.
