Your Role
We are experiencing significant growth and are looking to expand our engineering team. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in engineered injection molded plastics, you will play a pivotal role in various projects, guiding the team from initial design through to final validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and refine next-generation products through concept generation, analysis, CAD modeling, prototyping, and user studies.
- Serve as the engineering authority for tooled components and assemblies throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Own the design process for new components, ensuring alignment with product goals.
- Maintain thorough documentation practices, including design journals and test reports, to promote consistency and knowledge retention.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop product requirements and optimize designs based on feedback.
- Create and implement test plans and fixtures to ensure comprehensive and standardized testing procedures.
- Work closely with the Operations team to troubleshoot quality and manufacturability challenges, focusing on plastic components.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to designing and qualifying complex injection molded components.
Expertise Required
- Proficient in using engineering plastics to meet demanding technical specifications.
- Experience in qualifying tools for parts with stringent tolerances.
- Skilled in CAD design and detailing of complex molded parts (Solidworks preferred).
- Familiarity with developing optimal datum and tolerance strategies in collaboration with suppliers.
Preferred Skills
- Strong analytical and mechanical design capabilities, particularly in dynamic electro-mechanical systems.
- Hands-on experience with assembly and modification of mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of data logging, test automation, and programming in LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar languages.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $170,000, based on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits may include equity, bonuses, and comprehensive health coverage.
