Assembler Job Description

FMI Aerostructures is a leading manufacturer of critical structural components and complex assemblies for the aerospace & defense industry. We are seeking an experienced Assembler to join our team.

Job Summary

The Assembler will be responsible for assembling and disassembling components and products while ensuring that the finished products meet our quality standards. The ideal candidate should have a good eye for detail and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret assembly instructions, schematics, blueprints, and diagrams
  • Assemble parts and components using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
  • Inspect components and finished assemblies for accuracy and quality
  • Align components and adjust clearances to ensure proper fit
  • Utilize measuring equipment and gauges to ensure proper assembly
  • Follow safety protocols at all times
  • Maintain accurate inventory records
  • Clean and lubricate parts and assemblies
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot assembly issues
  • Communicate with co-workers and supervisors
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience as an Assembler
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools to assemble parts
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures
  • Ability to identify potential safety hazards
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
  • Ability to maintain accurate production records
  • Ability to use basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
