Position Overview
The role involves the operation of Remotely Operated Vehicles, subsea tooling, IWOCS, and RWOCS systems, as well as tensioning and reel systems, ensuring safety and efficiency. Responsibilities include the maintenance and repair of all electronic, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and subsystems associated with these operations, including component repair, replacement, and troubleshooting.
Key ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Operate equipment such as cameras (video and still), acoustic positioning systems, sonars, manipulators (robotic arms), Launch and Recovery Systems (LARS), hydraulic power units, and complex subsea tooling.
- Assist in piloting the ROV, evaluating environmental conditions and hazards, docking/undocking from the Tether Management System (TMS), and navigating using acoustics, sonar, and visual aids.
Maintenance and Repair Duties:
Conduct maintenance and repairs on electronics, hydraulics, and mechanics, utilizing test equipment, calibrating, aligning equipment, and performing general housekeeping and corrosion control.
- Operate and repair electrical over hydraulic and direct hydraulic control systems interacting with pumps, valves, and other hydraulic transmission and power equipment.
- Interface with subsea navigational equipment, including magnetic compasses, gyros, transducers, sonars, altimeters, and associated survey equipment.
- Integrate and operate tooling such as cutters, pump units, multipurpose skids, dredging systems, standalone sensory systems, and any other tooling integrated with the ROV.
- Maintain inventory of parts and supplies related to all electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic assemblies and subassemblies.
REQUIRED
- 12 to 18 months of formal training in mechanical and hydraulic systems, along with 12 to 18 months of formal training in electrical and electronics; or a combination of education and experience.
- Ability to obtain a valid Passport and any other regionally mandated offshore work requirement documents as necessary.
PREFERRED
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Technical or Associate degree.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is classified as OFFSHORE WORK, characterized by the following conditions:
- Work performed outdoors and indoors, day and night, often over or near water.
- Requires working on or near moving and vibrating equipment.
- Frequently experiences high humidity, elevated noise levels, and intense lighting conditions.
- Potential exposure to open flames, sparks, and airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
- Work surfaces may be elevated and stable.
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This position is considered HEAVY work.
OCCASIONAL
- Lift significant weights.
