Job Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst, Project Operations will play a critical role in supporting the financial and commercial analysis of Distributed Solar Development's portfolio of distributed solar and battery storage projects across the United States.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Performance Tracking: Establish metrics to track the financial performance of existing and new revenue streams.
  • Monthly Reporting: Prepare and distribute monthly reports to internal leadership teams and external investors.
  • Data Analysis and Automation: Develop tools to automate data analysis and recurring reporting to management, lenders, investors, and auditors.
  • Financial Presentations: Create presentations to enable management teams to understand monthly and year-to-date results.
  • Ad Hoc Requests: Support ad hoc requests for performance data from management, lenders, investors, and auditors.
  • Predictive Financial Modeling: Develop predictive financial models to support budget and forecast.
  • Portfolio Optimization: Maximize profitability of the portfolio by identifying opportunities to maximize revenue, minimize expenses, and expedite cash receipts.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks to future cash flow from operating assets.
  • Industry Research: Study industry-specific research and available data to predict trends.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or statistics.
  • Experience: Proven experience working as a financial analyst.
  • Skills: Proven proficiency in spreadsheets, reporting, and financial software applications (required: Excel and PowerPoint; preferred: SalesForce, Adaptive Planning, NetSuite).
  • Communication: Excellent reporting, presenting, and communication skills.
  • Accounting: Understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to work with large datasets.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strategic thinking and organizational skills.
  • Financial Modeling: Proven analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Renewable Energy: Experience in renewable energy, especially distributed solar and battery storage assets, is preferred.
