Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality Android applications at Reailize, a B-Yond company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure the development of high-quality Android applications.
  • Architecture and Design: Design and implement scalable and maintainable code structures, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Development and Maintenance: Lead the development and maintenance of Android applications, utilizing C++ libraries from Kotlin using Android NDK and JNI.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize the OS layer for performance, threading, and diagnostics interfaces.
  • Custom Library Creation: Develop custom libraries to handle high-bandwidth data processing on Android devices.
  • Data Management: Develop solutions for managing large data on/off Android devices.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects.
  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for code, designs, and product requirements.
  • Deployment and Collaboration: Participate in the deployment process, ensuring smooth rollouts of new features and bug fixes, and collaborate with DevOps teams for continuous integration and delivery.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience with Android SDK, framework, and library components, including a strong knowledge of different Android versions.
  • Technical Skills: Strong architectural knowledge and experience in framework-level development, minimum 5 years of experience in Kotlin or Java, familiarity with C/C++, and solid understanding of Android JNI and NDK concepts.
  • Additional Requirements: 4+ years of proven experience in multithreading and OS layer optimization, custom library creation for high-bandwidth data processing, large data management on/off devices, and experience working with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Domain-Specific Knowledge: Experience in domain-specific knowledge such as network protocols, IoT, RIL (Radio Interface Layer), and Android telephony is valuable but not mandatory.
  • Cloud Message APIs: Experience with cloud message APIs and push notifications is desirable.
  • AOSP Design Principles: Understanding of AOSP design principles and interface guidelines is preferred.
