As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural elements of process plants, including steel cold box structures, pipe racks, and other related components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop structural elements of process plants, including steel cold box structures, pipe racks, and other related components.
  • Produce detailed drawings and specifications for vendor bid packages and fabrication drawings.
  • Perform stress analysis on structures to validate designs and ensure compliance with established AISC standards.
  • Develop shipping and lifting requirements for equipment, including heavy machinery and large components.
  • Make technical recommendations and review vendor drawings and specifications to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Participate in departmental training programs and seminars to stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Resolve technical project issues and provide quality recommendations to ensure project success.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized technical institute.
  • Proficiency in CADWorx 3D, AutoCAD, or BricsCAD design software.
  • Experience with cryogenic piping, cold boxes, and the Industrial Gases Industry is a plus.
  • Experience with Robot, Tekla, and/or other industry-standard structural design software.
  • Experience with Hilti design software and RAM Connection software.
  • Understanding of pipe stress and pipe supports.
  • Basic computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to function in a team environment across multiple disciplines.
  • PE license is a plus.
