Physical Therapist I

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Physical Therapist I to join our team at the Contra Costa County Health Services Department. As a Physical Therapist I, you will be responsible for evaluating and planning physical therapy treatments for patients, administering and supervising the administration of physical therapy treatments, and instructing patients in pain management, injury prevention, and body mechanics.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and plan physical therapy treatments for patients
- Administer and supervise the administration of physical therapy treatments
- Instruct patients in pain management, injury prevention, and body mechanics
- Monitor and facilitate patients' progress
- Develop or direct the development of special equipment
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Explain medical recommendations to patients and their families
- Observe patient reactions, keep records, and prepare required reports
- Learn to perform specialized and advanced therapy treatments
- Administer diagnostic and prognostic tests
- Provide consultation and education relative to therapy treatment
- Collaborate with other care providers to ensure proper patient treatment and follow-up
- Secure and return clinic supplies and equipment and maintain required records and statistics
- Prepare reports relative to patient treatment, discharge planning, and the evaluation of treatment services
- Provide training and work direction to aides, assistants, interns, and volunteers
- Consult with other therapists as needed
- Possession and maintenance of a valid license as a Physical Therapist issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California, or graduation from an approved school of physical therapy and acceptance of an application to take the State of California Physical Therapy Licensing Examination
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate issued by the American Heart Association or a CPR certification issued by the American Red Cross
