Position Overview:
The Inmate Services Technician plays a crucial role in the management of inmate processes within the correctional facility. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all intake and release protocols, as well as maintaining accurate records and facilitating inmate inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the intake and release of inmates by verifying documentation and ensuring all requirements are fulfilled. Manage inmate belongings and financial accounts, and prepare essential paperwork for releases.
- Update and maintain comprehensive database records, including calculating good time credits, confirming release schedules, and documenting new charges. Engage with inmates to ensure the accuracy of their information.
- Assist inmates by providing information regarding their cases, clarifying sentencing details, and coordinating court appearances.
- Oversee off-site visitation for inmates, confirming visitor eligibility and ensuring compliance with facility regulations during visits.
- Execute additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisory staff.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Proficient keyboarding skills with a minimum speed of 40 words per minute.
- At least one year of relevant experience in areas such as cash handling, customer service, or data entry.
- Intermediate proficiency in reading, mathematics, and writing.
- Must obtain required certifications (CBI and Notary) within six months of employment.
Applicants should be prepared for:
- Written assessments related to job functions.
- Oral interviews.
- Polygraph examinations.
- Comprehensive background checks, including criminal, driving, and credit history.
- Medical evaluations specific to job requirements.
- Psychological assessments.
Education Requirements: GED or High School Diploma
