We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer III to provide technical leadership for our New Product Development programs. As a key member of our Integrated Product Development Team (IPDT), you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with external customers to deliver high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership for New Product Development programs, including preliminary to detailed design, development part fabrication, qualification/certification testing, and sustaining engineering efforts.
- Lead small teams (>5) and interface with vendors and suppliers to ensure product and project compliance.
- Mentor and coach lower-level engineers, participate in internal and external audits, and utilize engineering knowledge to identify and propose technical improvements.
- Collaborate with customers to resolve complex problems, communicate project status and risks, and ensure timely information flow among the IPDT.
- Support manufacturing teams during the Product Development Phase and maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering; M.S. preferred.
- Years of experience in metallic or composite ducting and motion compensator design per ARP 699 guidelines or equivalent experience in ECS, bleed air, or AMS full-system or component design.
- Experience with aircraft certification to EASA, Transport Canada, CAAC, and/or FAA 14 CFR FAR 25 requirements.
- Experience delegating work and supervising non-direct reports, writing certification documentation, and participating in internal and external audits.
- Thorough understanding of industry specifications, such as MIL, AN, MS, NAS, ASTM, AMS, etc.
- Experience with analysis tools such as FEA/FEM tools MSC NASTRAN/PATRAN, ANSYS, ATA NASTRAN/FEMAP.
- Experience with CAD software (CATIA V5 or Solidworks).
- Experience with test experience with LabVIEW data acquisition/control VIs.
