Job Summary:

As a Medical Sonographer Technologist at the University of Illinois Chicago, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care by operating specialized equipment to produce images of the body's internal structures. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform ultrasound scans on various anatomical regions, including abdomen, pelvis, and small parts
Utilize proper settings on the ultrasound equipment and patient tables for optimal scanning
Assemble supply kits and instruments for exams, such as thoracentesis and paracentesis, and assist physicians with these procedures
Clean and disinfect transducers according to established infection control standards and manufacturer instructions
Utilize the electronic medical record and imaging information systems for processing, storing images, and documentation
Stock supplies in the rooms and alert the manager when inventory is low
Communicate with other clinical departments to coordinate patient care activities
Instruct technical students and collaborate with residents

Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent
Current/valid registration, certification, or licensure in Medical Sonography, accreditation in sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS)
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

Mid shift position from 11am - 7:30pm and rotating weekends
ARDMS and BLS certifications
Excellent Attendance, interpersonal skills, and work history included on application
