Position Summary:
The role involves being an integral part of the XL Specialized Trailers workforce. The primary responsibility is to execute a comprehensive range of specialized coating tasks by utilizing paint spraying equipment to apply various coatings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyze information from shop orders and drawings to understand painting specifications.
- Set up and operate spray paint systems and pressure-pot systems for applying primer and top coat paints, while handling solvents, cleaners, and coatings.
- Utilize an overhead crane to move components safely.
- Assist in preparing components, including sanding and repainting as necessary.
- Conduct self-inspections to verify compliance with specifications.
- Maintain equipment functionality by performing preventive maintenance and adhering to operational procedures.
- Address painting issues by adjusting processes and communicating with supervisors for additional support.
- Document production, quality, and time metrics accurately.
- Ensure a safe and organized work environment by following established procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Identify potential safety and health hazards by assessing environmental and operational conditions.
- Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results as required.
Additional Duties:
- Perform other tasks as assigned to enhance the overall efficiency of XL Specialized Trailers.

No supervisory responsibilities.
Supervision Structure:
Works under direct supervision, responsible for planning and executing assignments while keeping supervisors informed of progress and potential issues.

Licensing and Certification:

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in industrial painting.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient in operating painting equipment.
- Basic understanding of shop mathematics.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications while following procedures.
- Attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
- Analytical skills for problem-solving at an organizational level.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Occasional climbing of stairs or ladders.
- Occasional pushing or pulling of materials.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs routinely and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to wear a respirator as needed.
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends.
