Key Responsibilities- Assist the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations and Assistant Golf Course Superintendent in interviewing, training, and scheduling golf course maintenance staff members.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of all tasks relevant to various golf course maintenance positions, including Application Foreman, Irrigation Foreman, Equipment Operator, and Landscape Gardener.
- Operate and maintain all maintenance equipment, and perform any task associated with maintaining the golf course or equipment.
- Assist with training staff on proper equipment operation, established procedures, and techniques.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Certified Applicator's License.
- Assist in promoting and enforcing safety practices in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure daily department tasks and duties are completed, and communicate recommended changes to supervisors.
- Assume the duties of the Irrigation Foreman or Application Foreman as required.
- Assist with special repairs or modifications projects as needed.
- Communicate regularly via a 2-way radio system.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in turf management or a related field, or trades training and work-related experience in turf management.
- Knowledge of general business administration practices as applied to golf course operations.
- Working knowledge of golf course operations and practices necessary.
This position operates in a professional office environment and requires regular use of standard office equipment. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, kneel, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance, and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
